Rachel M. Thompson

I am a writer, mother, and geek–not necessarily in that order–living just outside of Austin, TX. I write short fiction to maintain my sanity while working on novel length manuscripts, with debatable results. My boys keep me busy, whether I’m refereeing a wrestling match or acting as a human jungle gym. When I’m not buried at the bottom of an endless pile of laundry, I might be found doing something crafty or poking around halfheartedly in the garden. Or possibly debating the relative merits of Batman and Superman with my husband.

Oh yeah, I went there.

On Writing…
The main rule of writing is that if you do it with enough assurance and confidence, you're allowed to do whatever you like. (That may be a rule for life as well as for writing. But it's definitely true for writing.) So write your story as it needs to be written. Write it honestly, and tell it as best you can. I'm not sure that there are any other rules. Not ones that matter.~Neil Gaiman
